[Guest Post] Dress of the day: Thread Social open back dress

Around the time of my birthday, I find myself browsing Net-a-porter and cooing over the pretty dress. Why I think that because it’s my birthday I’ve suddenly become very rich, I don’t know. But then I spotted this open back dress from Thread Social. And it’s perfect. The cowl front is classy (and very Audrey Hepburn) and it matches the navy and black perfectly, but then look! The open back is all interesting and sexy:

Pretty, no? But at £445 it’s just the wrong side of expensive for me. Which is very unfair indeed. Anyone want to buy me one as a birthday present?

There’s something about combining navy with black in a garment that makes it so much nicer than navy on its own. Particularly when it’s shiny or velvet. But it’s out of my price-range too…

Not loving it so much. The cowl neck looks weird to me, I don’t like the back, the fabric look like that weird shiny stiff stuff I don’t like. I don’t think I like anything about it xD

    That’s OK, I think it’s pretty 🙂

I did hear this morning that Zara Phillips *may* have been wearing it at the Melbourne Cup. Maybe.

I saw a pic of Zara in the dress, but tbh even though I do love the dress on net-a-porter, on her I hate it – I just don’t think its particularly flattering on her, even though she is gorgeous

I quite like the dress, but the collar area looks a little awkward.
