    What I don’t understand is what thought process could have gone from “Ooh, the ‘tarred and feathered’ look achieved by painting your feet with Copydex and running through a pile of soft toy stuffing” to “I must wear those in public”.

    Yup, I agree with the first two commenters. I couldn’t care less who wore those shoes. They look horrible and the person should be ashamed a being photographed with them on her unpedicured feet.

    I don’t think those shoes are awful (they’re not beautiful, though): I think the crime of fashion is surely the unpedicured feet.. However, it seems some feathers are missing: upper part of the left shoe, and near the big toes, both shoes.. As a whole, it creates an impression of slovenliness.
