Fraud Squad: Gucci’s Vs Matalan ‘Kelly’ sandals

Gucci_matalan

Oh, Matalan! It would be hard to imagine a more blatant knockoff than this version of Gucci’s ‘Kelly’ sandals, which will retail for the grand price of £14 as part of Matalan’s Christmas collection. OK, the colour’s not the same, and we’d venture to suggest the quality won’t be either (although for that price, what do you expect?), but the look is similar enough for the Fashion Police Fraud Squad to have been alerted to their existence.

The Gucci originals were part of the Summer 07 collection, but you can still pick up a pair at Bluefly for $535 in a limited range of sizes.

Can I get those online? I love them so! Colour is even better, I think.
Oh, and we need more shops that ship to Germany…

    Oooohh, I like those!!
And its not like the high street to take a year to copy something, maybe they thought they could get away with it! But they underestimated the all seeing eye of the Fashion Police! Haha!

MArie – I’m afraid Matalan don’t offer online shopping yet: one of the few that still don’t! I think we need to start a campaign 🙂

Yeah I`m going to join the campaign definetly! It`s so unfair to see all those wonderful clothes and I just don`t get them in Germany…
But hey, lets make it a better fashion-world for everyone 🙂

You’ve got a good point Marie – I don’t know if it was just the cities I’ve visited (Ludwigshafen the most recently) but Germany doesn’t seem to be the best place for clothes shopping, especially if you’re on a budget. Yes, you can find nice things but it’s not like when I go shopping in London area and could never carry home all the stuff I’d like to get. On the other hand, you do have Handkäse, which I’ve never been able to get in the UK despite having worked for a cheese company…

I had a pair of shoes that looked just like these in middle school-though I’m fairly sure they didn’t have heels quite that high. I’m not sure I’d call these a rip-off, since I know I’ve seen the design before many places. Including a pair of bridesmaid’s shoes for a friends wedding.
