Functional to fashionable? Tommy Hilfiger Thigh High Duck Boots

Duck boots are certainly a wardrobe staple. It’s just that they’re usually reserved for country weekends, camping or shoveling snow. The Fashion Police, then, have become suspicious of the fact that they’re suddenly considered so stylish. Lauded by the fashion press after his Fall 2010 fashion show, the Tommy Hilfiger Thigh High Duck Boot is already wait-listed and it’s not available until late August/early September. If you’re ready to jump in line, the boots are $498 and you can reserve a pair at Tommy Hilfiger.

What do you think of them?

I don’t know. I wouldn’t wear them, but I quite liked them at first. Then I looked at them a little longer and now they just make me think of Ed Gein – the guy who made suits out of human skin. I think it’s because the black heels make me expect to see legs coming out of them.

Those are awful. But if the right person wore them, with the right attitude, I bet they’d get a ton of compliments. Maybe a nice flowery dress with them.

Monochrome would have made a better choice…

Well, they’re interesting for sure, but I don’t really know would I want to wear them… Love the heel, though.

Love them & have signed up on the wait list! For those of us that live in snow & rain country with below freezing daily temps, these are a great way to look great without ruining our suede & leather boots with salt/snow stains, water spots, etc. Go Tommy!

I love these boots also. I work outside and go camping too.
The height of the heel makes them impractical for work or
hiking but for times around the campsite or the house they are
really sexy. And for trips to the store where you don’t have to walk
very far. I love heels and these combine the best of high heels
    and duck boots.
