Style On Trial: Heaven & Earth Mini Frill Layered Skirt

Frilllayeredskirt

I’m a bit of a neat freak. I just can’t relax if I’m surrounded by any kind of mess, which is why this Heaven & Earth skirt is making me start to hyperventilate. It’s just so messy, with all of those layers of fabric going all over the place, some straight, some pleated, some pointing to the east, some pointing to the west. It’s the sartorial equivalent of a teenagers messy bedroom, and it makes me want to shout "tidy that room or you’re not getting any supper!"

I suspect some people, however, would describe this as "creative" and "edgy", and there must be some reason why it’s being sold for £60, so I put it to you, Fashion Police readers: would you wear this skirt?

I actually kinda like it. Although, you would have to plan the rest of your outfit carefully to avoid looking like a crazy cat lady!

I would wear that! I’ve been meaning to make a skirt like that for awhile. I think with a really bright coloured, ‘serious’ looking business shirt, stockings and plain black heels, it would be a cool way to dress up a work look!

I wouldn’t wear it. It looks complicated like a bunch of construction papers stuck together. Maybe it might work for an art show of something, but for normal everyday life, I bet there will be a lot of “huh? what IS that?” around this skirt.

Personally, I like the idea of a shorter skirt with lots of layers in different cuts. However, the pleats have to go. That should give it that interesting-but-not-busy/overdone look!
