Flying the Fashion Flag: Bernhard Willhelm flag skirt

Even the store selling this admits it’s not really going to work as a “skirt”, so rather than being appalled at the idea of people walking around wearing nowt but a small scrap of fabric, let’s concentrate our energies on the “countless ways” it can allegedly be worn!

Or actually, you know what? We’ve just spent the last couple of minutes staring intently at some model’s crotch, as we tried to decipher the words on the flag. We feel a bit grubby now. How about you just discuss this item amongst yourselves, while we go and take a shower, hmm?

I don’t think the words are very clever either. Kind of makes the person wearing the “skirt” look like a nut who dresses up cats. o.O

This crime of “fashion” should be sentenced to death! I notice the store has it on sale for 60% off. At a $116 that discount puts this piece at $46.40. That’s still way too much to pay for this “skirt”. Wait, $1.oo would be too much to pay for this, even at a yard sale. Sheesh.

I can’t help but feel there is some cat related innuendo going on here. Either way, it reads like a person who is desperately trying to be quirky, because they don’t feel interesting enough otherwise.

The point of this thing, no it’s not a skirt in the least, is pointless shock value. It’s so pointless it’s not even shocking anymore.

Over $100?? Everything is ugly, even the rope. A little kid could make a craft project that looks better than this..

I quite like the fact that it allows the wearer to express themselves, to tell us something about their personality. So that we don’t have to waste our time getting to know them before deciding to avoid them at all costs…

This is just…pointless. Not witty. Not cute. I don’t get it. At all.

HAhaha…Fantastic! This is the most odd and awful thing I’ve seen all week. I love the quote in the front/back. HaTE HAtE HATe the “skirt”. It’s a scrap of old t-shirt on a bungee cord. …and it appears to have been vandalised. LOL Hilarious!

I think this is a cultural thing. As a girl from Antwerp I see a lot of Belgian fashion items here on the site considered to be wrong or ugly or … But most of the time they’re concepts and I love them because they take fashion a step further. If every designer would stay in the safe ‘everything must be pretty’ zone, fashion would look really dull…
