Fashion Police Gold Star for: Freida Pinto in Oscar de la Renta

This photo is actually from last week, but we thought Freida Pinto deserved an honorable mention in our records for her appearance at the premiere of ‘The Last Airbender’ in this gorgeous green Oscar de la Renta dress, which Freida accessorized with a simple black clutch and heels. Doesn’t she look beautiful?

The Fashion Police Gold Star is duly awarded!

I love when stars choose some more interesting and unusual colours on the red carpet + I absolutely adore this dress!

sad that no one knew how to do a hem that didn’t look crappy. if I paid the kind of money this must have cost, I would at least want a decent hem in it.

I’d have given it a thumbs down on the basis of the hem alone. That amateurly finished hem spoils the whole dress.

Yes she does look beautiful. I think she has developed a more sophisticated look than when she first burst on to the scene. Plus I think you’d have to try really hard to go wrong with ODLR.
Anyway, regarding, the hem, my guess is that the material is some sort of medium weight silk organza (mix) which when gets turned up straight such as on the hem will make these curious little points but it’s actually characteristic of the material and not necessarily a sign of shoddy finishing (heaven forbid on a ODLR dress!). You see this happen on the hem of duchess silk wedding gowns but because the skirt is usually much wider than here, it’s not always as obvious.
