Fashion Police at the Met Costume Institute Gala 2010: Melissa George in J. Mendel

Melissa George can be a little bit hit and miss, fashion-wise, but this J. Mendel gown is a definite “hit” for us: we love the colour, which makes a nice change from all of the white and silver gowns (as much as we loved those too!), and it has an air of simple glamour about it which brings to mind the screen goddesses of yesteryear, which is perhaps what Melissa was aiming for (in which case our only criticism would be that a slightly more coiffed hairdo and some red lippy might have helped further that aim, although she looks beautiful as she is, too). What do you think?

This is one of the best dresses I have seen in a long time. The style & fit is amazing & color is stunning. It wouldn’t work on everyone – but it works on her.
