Fashion Police at the 2011 MET Gala: Christina Ricci in Zac Posen

The MET Costume Institute Gala is the Fashion Police’s favourite fashion event of the year, purely because the themed gala gives celebrities a great excuse for some very “interesting” costumes.

The theme of this year’s event was “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty”, in tribute to the late designer. Christina Ricci isn’t wearing Alexander McQueen here, but has interpreted the theme pretty well in this gothic gown by Zac Posen.

What do you think?

Ahum. She looks very Helena Bonham Carter. Not my cup of tea, but that’s a personal opinion of course.

The dress isn’t my kind of thing, but I appreciate it just the same.
But at first glance I thought Zac Posen forgot to wear a shirt!

Dress not too bad, but horrific hair and make up.

I gotta say, I feel like I shouldn’t be loving this look, but I do! She pulls off such a dramatic look very well.

My first thought was of Morticia Adams. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

She looks perfect for this event. It’s supposed to be over-the-top. I was bored with most of the other celebrities’ dresses. They weren’t bad but they were dull. Christina Ricci was one of the few who dressed for the theme. She looks great.
