Fashion Police at the 2010 Grammy Awards: Katy Perry in Zac Posen

Katy Perry at the 2010 Grammy Awards

We really want to like this. We feel like it has the potential to be absolutely stunning, but it’s missing the mark somewhere, possibly due to the nude colour, which is always hard to do well. What do you think, readers: hit or miss for Katy Perry?

pro: she has her bits covered
con: she has her bits covered with what looks like a bedazzled skin suit
at least she has a nice purse…silver linings people

i hate the sleeves, makes it look too much like a leotard. If it was strapless it might have been a smidge better but it seems like an all around tacky dress. Sorry, Zac Posen, I still love you.

Different color – maybe would have worked. The new haircut makes her look an awful lot like Kathy Griffith, though.

Katy shot and missed. All i can picture is this dress shorter with nude leggings and Ice skates. I wonder how good she is with figure 8s?

It’s a nice dress, but the hair and makeup look like right out of a comic strip.

it real problem here is the tacky sequins that look almost glued on and body stocking-esque fabric. not a good choice all around.
On a positive note, the shape is quite lovely.

I think the dress is nice. I think the hair is nice. But together, somehow, the beige and jet black just clash. Strange.

I actually really like this dress. It is glamorous with just enough of the whimsy brought to it by the flower pattern.

Musicians are suppose to be edgy in fashion and Perry has straddled the fence between outrageous and glamorous well.

It’s good but needs some sort of belt since the stomach area is like a vast, flat, lifeless desert. I will never get enough nude dresses.

I think it’s a beautiful dress, just the nude does throw me off. I think this would look better in possibly navy blue?
