Dress of the Day: Red rose bow prom dress from Dorothy Perkins

We've actually shown you this dress once before, as part of our Dorothy Perkins summer preview, but now that it's available to buy, we thought it deserved its moment as a Dress of the Day.

The squad managed to inspect this dress "in the flesh" just a few days ago, and can confirm that it's as lovely in real life as it is in the picture. It's also available in black, and is £40. Buy it here.

I saw this on the mannequin in store and it’s gorgeous! Just like all of their other summer dresses!

Very pretty dress! Very reasonable price, too.

    So pretty!
When I lived in the UK, Dorothy Perkins seemed a little bit “mum-sy” to me.
Have they totally revamped their image?

    Ooooooooo!! It’s a clap-hands-together-with-girlish-glee moment.
How pretty. How knock ’em out red! It looks like a lovely flattering cut. DP are only encouraging my increasingly feminine wardrobe choices (I AM female, though) of late.
Melanie – yes, I think they have stepped it up a bit, and are now braving all kinds of cuts & colours. Lemon-lime green and bright orange garments were in stock recently. (I bought a draped jersey dress in the former retina-searing shade just last week, and startled even myself by appreciating how nice it looked.) They take a fairly-recent trend, and tone it down to everyday/Sunday best wearability. Not in the TopShop zany zone, but no longer mumsy either.

It’s okay, but the neckline looks a little too high to be comfortable there.
