Forever Unique Structured Dress With Bow, £250

It’s been a while since our last Dress of the Day post, which means we should probably think about re-naming it “Dress of the Every-Few-Months” or “Dress of the Whenever-We-Feel-Like-It-Really”. That doesn’t have quite the same ring to it, though, so, in a bid to get back into our regular posting schedule, we bring you this Forever Unique pencil dress, even although we’re pretty sure some of you will hate it.

It’s the peplum that’s the issue, isn’t it? It’s just a little bit extravagant – as is the bow, for that matter – which means it definitely won’t be to everyone’s taste. That’s OK, though: nothing actually IS to everyone’s taste, which just means those of us who DO like this dress will have a better chance of getting one – ideally at some point in the future, when it’s on deep discount.

As for us, we like this dress because of the sheer drama of it. The bow reminds us a bit of vintage Lady Gaga (Yes, we mean that in a GOOD way…) and the silhouette is definitely striking. We’d take a little white dress over a little black one any day (great way to stand out amongst all of those LBDs), and if you would too, you can buy this one at ASOS.

I think it is a lovely way to emphasize a svelte figure. As in, “I don’t have to worry about extra fabric at my waist.” I am definitely having figure envy.

See, I quite like this. The bow, yes, a bit over the top – but the peplum does not apologise. It’s the skirt I don’t like: it looks limp, and tight and trashy. If i bought this, you know, BECAUSE, I’d get the bow off and chop the skirt and wear it with tight trousers as a top
