Dita Von Teese in leather at the Dior Couture summer show

Dita Von Teese in a leather dressDita Von Teese has come under a fair bit of criticism from Fashion Police readers recently, for sticking too rigidly to her favourite retro looks, and, well, for the frankly horrifying “look what’s up my sleeves!” dress she wore to The Art of Elysium’s 3rd Annual Gala.

This leather dress and thigh-high boots combo, then, is a bit of a departure for Dita, although by keeping her hair and makeup firmly on the retro side, she’s still managed to make it look very “Dita”, we think. Is that a good thing or a bad thing, though? You decide.

That must be a noisy outfit – it’ll squeak and creak every time she shifts in her chair…

I actually love it. The top half and the gloves are the better half admittedly, but I actually think I fell a little bit in love just then.

Only a world-famous burlesque queen should be caught dead in this much cowhide. So I guess this is ok. Dita. At least there are no pompoms.

I must admit that i love the upper part. The dress is interesting and the gloves look great on her. The boots are too much, though. Classic Louboutins would’ve been the perfect choice (oh, and no tights, i reckon)

This is pretty neat, actually. Kind of a retro-futuristic aviator look. A sexy retro-futuristic aviator!

Gee I reckon you’d hear her squeaking and creaking before you actually saw her – lol! Seriously, though I actually LOVE this black leather ensemble. I love it because whilst she appears to be totally leather-clad, there is just a hint of flesh showing around the neckline and upper arms. The only thing I would suggest is more colorful leather combination. What about a red leather trench coat and the rest black leather?
