Dress of the Day: Diane Von Furstenberg Slater dress

Dvf_dress We’re not really Diane Von Furstenberg fans. Contrary to popular opinion, those wrap dresses really don’t suit everyone: they don’t suit us, for instance, and that has meant that poor DVF has been sadly neglected by The Fashion Police as a result.

Until now, obviously.

Diane, it’ll all be different from now on. Because we love this black ‘Slater’ dress of yours, and no, not just because of the bow on the shoulder, but because this looks like the kind of simple, sexy, classic dress you’d see in some old black and white movie. Probably in French.

It has a simple, old fashioned glamour to it that really appeals, and while the high neck, three-quarter sleeves and harsh black will make it far too severe for some, we’re picturing it with a pair of killer heels and some red lipstick, and we’re kinda loving that image.

If you’re loving it too, it’s $365 at Chick Downtown, and if you can’t see the detail too well here, you might want to visit the site and use the “zoom” function.

Uhm, in principle I’m against copying but then again, when did I ever have principles? M.U.S.T.H.A.V.E.T.H.I.S.D.R.E.S.S.

I like the dress but don’t think I’d wear it because I think details like the gathering at the waist makes it look like it’s too tight.
