Dee V by Diana Vickers: the latest celebrity-turned-fashion-designer

As most of you know, all you have to do to be able to call yourself a “fashion designer” these days is to… have a hit song. Or be a TV presenter. Or appear on a reality TV show.

The latest celebrity to take the “I can sing, so by God, I can also design!” route into the fashion world is the UK’s Diana Vickers, who, you may or may not know, appeared on X-Factor a couple of years ago, and although she didn’t win, she did do pretty well out of it, scoring a record deal and a musical. And now a fashion line.

These items are from the Dee V by Diana Vickers line for, and despite our cynicism towards celebrity “designers”, we must admit, we were a lot more impressed with these items than we expected to be. In fact, there’s a certain bird-print skirt which could just have our name on it, and that’s not something we expected to be saying when we first heard about this line.

This is all pretty standard, current-trend stuff: we have the 70s flares, the 50s skirt, the midi dress, the animal-print playsuit… but it looks rather nice, and the prices are reasonable, so we’ll be interested to see how it develops.

What do you think of these designs? You can see the rest of the range in the gallery below, or click here if you want to buy anything.

Well, there is really nothing unique about this collection, but, hell, what is? Most of it is as forgettable as any other trend that hits the stores once in a while… But at the same time it’s cute and wearable. The bird skirt looks awesome! 🙂

The only thing that I’d like is the skirt, it’s very pretty, I love the birds! I don’t really care for the rest of the items.
