Daylight Robbery: Thom Browne’s $1,188 mittens

thom-browne-mittensSeriously, these BETTER be knitted out of unicorn hair or something to justify the $1,188 price tag. But, oops, no, they’re plain ol’ wool and cashmere, and sure, cashmere feels nice, but unless our cashmere blend mittens are hand delivered by ANGELS and come with some kind of attachment (preferably made from solid gold) to allow us to secure them to our clothes AT ALL TIMES(can you imagine losing one of your $1,000 mittens?), we’re not buying.

Also, did someone say “recession”? We think certain fashion designers may have missed the memo…

this is what happens when crafting is lost through the generations…knitting grandmas the world over are poking their granddaughters and grandsons and telling them they shouldn’t have said “whatever nan…learning knitting is for is for chumps” and wondering why her mitts just end up donated to charity rather than reaping her a glorious retirement fund like Mr. Browne’s here

Why sure! I know if I had a spare grand lying around, I’d spend it on mittens!

I see buttons on the cuff. Supposing that you unbuttoned them to get the mittens on, wouldn’t it be difficult to rebutton? If they’re strictly decorative, shouldn’t they be prettier?

This is made for spoiled rich girls who spend 10 grand on vases, pens, slippers, etc.

Obviously not made for the middle class hard-working consumer..
