Crocs ‘Gretel’ – rubber clogs for the Winter season

crocs-gretel-shoesIt’s the 1st September, folks. Are YOU wondering how you’re going to be able to keep on wearing Crocs all winter?

No, us neither.

We ARE wondering how on earth Crocs think they can describe these as “iconic”, though.

I have to admit I think they’d be pretty cute, if it weren’t for that upturned toe….It makes them look like a kind of cross between Santa’s elves and traditional Dutch wooden clogs! (especially the yellow one)

Aren’t the heels on those a bit high coverage? I thought clogs generally had a very low or no heel for the uppers.

I never liked the look of the original Crocs, although my boyfriend and most of his family have them. I can’t say how I feel about Croc clogs, however. I think I’d have to see them in person to really decide.

Crocs without ventilation holes – stinky as well as hideous!

I just tried these on and they are not that bad. They are very sturdy and feel like a regular clog on. I too think the original one’s are awful, but I think I’ll have to give these a second look.

They’re kind of cute, especially the black ones and the ones with the purple ribbon. Of course I’d wear them with socks. Granted they’re not beautiful shoes, but comfortable and convenient for winter days? I think so. I’d wear them with jeans to go to lectures when it’s cold, or maybe even thick tights and a skirt. They certainly aren’t worse than sneakers or UGG-style boots, and I need comfortable shoes.
