Contact lens jewellery by Erick Klarenbeek. Ouch.

As some of you may know, your Chief of Police is a contact lens wearer, and has been for more years than she cares to remember. So The Fashion Police have no squeamishness whatsoever about contact lenses, or the idea of putting things into their eyes. The idea of something which actually dangles from your eyeball, though? Is a little bit disconcerting, we have to admit.

That’s what these jewelled contact lenses by designer Erick Klarenbeek do, though. As you can see from the image on the right, this is a piece of jewellery which is basically stuck onto the front of what appears to be a regular contact lens. As you can see from the picture on the left, the jewellery then hangs down onto your face.

This raises lots of questions for us: how clearly can you see out of a contact lens with jewellery stuck onto it? What if you forget about it and reach up to brush the hair out of your eyes, taking the contact lens out of your eyes at the same time? How would you get a sweater on or off while wearing these? Oh, and most importantly: WHY?

What do you think, Fashion Force? Would you wear contact lens jewellery, or do you think some things are better left alone?
