Comme des Garcons get busy with the sharpies for Fall/Winter 2009

Comme-des-garcons

For Fall/Winter 2009, Comme des Garcons have taken a very "literal" approach to fashion – by which we mean "just in case you were wondering what each piece is, they've included a handy drawing on everything". Even the shoes:

Cdg-toe-shoes

You'll find two more examples under the jump, and all are currently available to buy from Colette. What do you think, though?

Cdg-jacket

jacket, $1,222.66

Cdgtank-top

tank top, $390

I think the shoes are hilarious, but everything else? ugh.

Those shoes are making me feel sick – I dislike the style of shoes anyways but WHY paint toes on them?!

Looks like that suit Elle Driver wore in Kill Bill in the hospital. Worked better for her, though.

Hannah, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels nauseous because of those shoes! They just seriously squick me out for reasons I can’t quite explain.

What saddens me is that someone is going to buy these hideous pieces just because they are from Comme des Garcons.

The tank is funny, but it looks like something I could find in Wal-Mart… and the rest is just plain hideous.

The shorts were funny. They kind of remind me of those jeans with the extra bit at the top that looked like another pair of jeans.
The shoes started to remind me of those ‘barefoot stilettos’ the more I looked at them and that started to freak me out.
The jacket almost NEEDS the ‘design’ because it looks more like a poncho and the tank top makes my fingers itch because of how mis-matchy it is… the ‘design’ isn’t in the right place!

For some reason I’m finding the jacket really cute. Someone shoot me now.
The shoes are just plain funny!

Those shoes have some hideous feet on them. And why would anyone want a pair of nude-colored shoes in that style, with or without toes drawn on them?
Most of the rest of it is oddly-drawn, and far too overpriced. Nearly $400 for a tank top? I think not.

It’s witty I suppose. Kind of thing one can only wear once, though, which is kind of a shame at those prices. I’m glad they didn’t go the whole witty length of doing the shorts in the same style as the shoes, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

The tank top is the only piece I find marginally cute.

It’s about creativity, but at the same time being totally wearable. If you guys plan to “dissect” and analyze these brands, you need to be open to creativity of the industry. To be honest, all these pieces are totally wearable and add so much fun to an outfit.
