Well, isn’t this just an absolute dream of a dress?
At £150, it’s just a little bit pricier than we’re used to paying for Collectif, but if you visit the site and zoom in on the fabric, you’ll see why: layers of delicate tulle embroidered with pretty little roses, finish off a classic, 50s-style dress, complete with pleated, bardot neckline. This is the kind of dress that would be perfect for a summer wedding, and might even work if you’re one of the bridesmaid’s – or even the bride herself, come to think of it. This has a bit of a “Grace Kelly” vibe to it, and is designed to appeal to lovers of retro fashion, although the powder-pink colour is also very fashionable right now, if you care about such things.
Although Collectif are perhaps best known for their vintage-inspired dresses, we also love some of their separates, which have a similarly retro-feel, but which could also work well as part of a more contemporary look. We’re thinking here of pieces like the ‘Marina’ sweater (£27.50 here), which would look great with jeans:
Or the ‘Bonnie’ cigarette trousers, which are a Godsend for those of us who would happily go through the rest of our lives without ever seeing another pair of low-rise trousers – or the muffin-top they can create.
Finally, if you’re looking for office-wear that’s a little bit different (and which you’ll be less likely to see your colleagues wearing, too), this jacket is down to just £22.50 in the sale, and is the kind of thing that could also be used to dress up a more casual outfit, if you don’t happen to have a use for a 40s-style suit!
Oh, and you’ll find the matching skirt here, at the regular price of £32.50.
