Christopher Kane’s ‘eye popping’ skirt

Christopher Kane laser-cut leather pleated skirtNet-a-Porter call this an “eye popping take on a ladylike design”.  Well it’s certainly that alright, but we’re not sure we want our eyes popped quite that much.  If you feel like you need sunglasses to look at your skirt, that’s probably a sign that it’s a bit too bright folks.

This is made of pleated leather, and the lace design has been laser cut which we suppose goes some way to justifying the £1,610 price tag.  But where would you wear a neon yellow pencil skirt?   If you have any ideas where to wear it, we’d love to know and you can buy it here.

The actual design and pattern of the skirt are quite nice. But that color is horrible. If it were another (just about ANY other) color, I would wear it in a heartbeat.

With a skirt like this (especially in that color), you’d need a simple blouse or jacket and simple, understated accessories or else it would look way over-the-top. If you had this as your one whimsical/odd thing about your outfit, you could probably get away with it at a normal job, but especially in a creative position.

actually I think everything about it is gross, especially the design. tell me when grandma’s table cloth has ever been in as a pattern on clothes

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking, grandma’s tablecloth!

I like it. Can’t see how leather would be comfortable, though. And I’m not overly fond of the pattern. But I like the concept.

I was just thinking how ungodly uncomfortable this looks. I can understand the aesthetic of leather skirts, dresses etc. but, in Summer especially, it’s going to feel like S&M wear by the end of the day no matter how pretty it may be.

Also, I don’t like wearing that much of a cow on me at any given time.

I’d be game. =] I think this could be super fun with a black turtleneck and black opaque tights, with contrasting pumps – Maybe bright purple? I’d go for it.
