Celebrity Style on Trial: Katherine Heigl’s Western look

OK, so it’s not exactly “Western”. We don’t expect many cowgirls wore Ralph Lauren, for instance, but given that our experience of cowgirls is strictly limited to spaghetti Westerns, we’re willing to be proved wrong on that one.

Regardless, though, Katherine Heigl’s outfit is rather different from the usual star stylings which pass through The Fashion Police’s holding area, and what we want to know is this: is it refreshingly different, or do you just want to send her back to the old West and be done with it?

In other words: guilty or innocent? Which is it?

I love the blouse, but I hate fringes, and that belt… I’d say she’s guilty.

Its original, yet no very flattering, her arms and upperside look huge… but I must say because she stands out on others I’d say innocent.

Guilty as hell. The shirt is three musketeers, the skirt, belt and boots wild west. And the hair…? I doubt even she knows what she was aiming at with that hair!

    GUILTY!!!!
What on earth was she thinking?! That hair, that shirt, that shirt, those boots, all with that bag, none of it makes a remote amount of sense.
I really hope she does not not have a stylist, because that is exile worthy. Girl I am sure you have some money from all those shitty rom-coms, please hire a stylist and get a new hair cut. The hair ages her so much and the outfit screams 12-year old, none of it works.

The fashion world’s idea of “western” is a crime in and of itself. I doubt they even know what a cow is. This is dreadful.

I quite like her, so I’d say innocent 🙂

She could have done the belt buckle, the fringe skirt, the sloppy boots OR the leopard print bag, but not all of them.

I like the skirt and the belt, but the rest needs to go.

Get this outlaw to the jailhouse on the double Sheriff! Guilty as charged!

Does Katherine Heigl have a stylist? If so, she should find a new one; if not, she should really consider it. She’s such a gorgeous woman but she wears the most atrocious and unflattering outfits.

Ugh. I’d say guilty that skirt is hideous!

The outfit is not that bad, but the hair is… horrible. And the handbag doesn’t match the outfit. Guilty.

Just…no. She’s a lovely, pretty woman and that outfit completely distracts from that. The hair and earrings are too glam for the outfit. The sleeves on the blouse, the fringes on the skirt and the belt are hideous (the skirt is also several inches too short and hits her legs at the worst spot). The leopard print bag doesn’t “pop” (it just looks out of place), the boots are too dark and what’s with the hot pink nails?

I think the problem is that rather than having one stand out item to make the outfit interesting, she’s created an entire outfit out of stand out items. She probably could have got away with any one of those items if she’s toned down the rest of it, but when you put them all on at once it just screams “fashion victim”.

Oh, honey, no. I know your husband has gone country and all, but that doesn’t mean you have to dress like…well, honestly, I’m not sure what she’s dressed like. Some sort of “high concept” rodeo clown?

“Sometimes it’s hard, to be a woman….” Tammy was so right! I agree in this case – fashionwise!

Everything she’s wearing is on some level a statement piece, and statement pieces are supposed to be worn one at a time, not all together.

I like the idea of the look, but she looks tacky.

This miss-match loud pieces may look interesting on a model on the run way. Definietly not for real life…

The thing that pisses me off the most is that the boots are black, and it’s not offset by black anywhere else higher up in the body.
