Case Closed: Nicola Roberts in Topshop’s Woodland print maxi dress

Just a few days ago we put Topshop’s woodland print maxi dress up On Trial, and asked you what you thought of it, to a mixed response, although many of you seemed to agree that this was just a step too far towards the 70s.

We didn’t have to wait long to be able to answer the question, “Who would wear this?”, however, because here’s Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud rocking up to London Fashion Week in a very familiar dress. Does seeing the dress on someone change your opinion of it, readers? Or does it still have a whiff of the “what your mum might’ve worn in the 70s” about it?

Either way: CASE CLOSED.

I actually think it looks _worse_ worn than it does in the picture on the Topshop website. And I didn’t think that was possible.

This. It looks to me like her head isn’t really part of her body. =S

I don’t think it’s awful- I’ve seen much worse- but I don’t think it is at all flattering. I don’t get it: why not wear something that looks nice, rather than try to be different and end up looking stupid?

You can still look nice and dress differently, you just have to know the basic rules for wearing clothes that would flatter your body.

You know, I really wouldn’t mind this at all if it were just a turtleneck. I mean, worn with a short SOLID skirt, and some boots I think it could look great. I am really aghast that someone would wear that on the red carpet, though.

It’s too much as one whole garment. The pattern isn’t that bad.
