Budget Buy of the Week: Shell flower necklace from Dorothy Perkins

Flower_necklaceWhen it comes to reviving your wardrobe on a serious budget, accessories are almost always the easiest way to do it. Yes, we know it’s what all the fashion magazines say, but it’s absolutely true, which is why this pretty little flower necklace from Dorothy Perkins is this week’s Budget Buy. It’s only £7, will add some colour to dull winter blacks and greys, and if you really like it, there’s even a matching bracelet which is yours for another £7.

Sorry – it looks a bit cheap. The purple is too vibrant, I think… no offense to anyone that has it O_o

Well it doesn’t look expensive, that’s true – but I think it’s pretty. Unfortunately I rarely if ever get the chance to wear accessories like this these days – young children and fragile necklaces aren’t a winning combination.

I love this color. Just something bright, cheerful and silly to wear on the weekend.

I don’t really like it. It isn’t something I’d ever wear just casually, but it wouldn’t work as formal jewelery either since it does look a little cheap. But, hey, it is quite cute and cheerful, I say go for it for anyone who likes it!

I was in Dorothy Perkins today and sadly, while I like the colour, it does look cheap in real life. It’s a shame, as they do some great jewellery, but this one doesn’t do it for me.
So I bought a whole load of big bright beads from them instead.
