Style on Trial: Anthropologie’s sculpted flower boots

Anthropologie_boots

When we spotted these Anthropologie boots over at Shoewawa yesterday, we were a little taken aback because, let’s be honest, they looked to us like they had some kind of fungus growing up the leg. When we looked again today, though, with the benefit of the supersized view on the Anthropologie website,we weren’t so sure our first instinct had been correct. They’re flowers, after all. Flowers are cute. Are these flowers cute, though? Or were we right the first time and they’re just a little creepy?

You tell us, Fashion Force… (And if you want to buy them, they’re £263, here)

Actually, I kind of like them, but then I’m in Texas, where the occasional over-the-top pair of cowboy boots is something every girl must own. My only concern might be that bits of loose flower/leather might get caught on things and get torn off.

I love them! Now I don’t think I would wear them, but they would make for a nice mantle display…I just wish the flowers weren’t tan and yellow – light pink might have been cute.

I like them, but I think people would stare at me if I wore them on the street…

For those who want the look of unshaven legs without taking the time to grow out the hair!
Seriously though, from a distance on the street I would just think “WTF?”

I think a little creepy. Definitely out of place on the west coast.

Love them ! Quirky and fun without being too girly cute.

Obviously a love or hate item. I think they look clunky and vaguely frightening, like you’d expect bugs to be crawling out of them.

If the boot wasn’t so close to flesh color, I’d really like them.

THAT’S what it is, KT caught it…it looks like hairy legs. If that does it for you, go in peace…

if you lean back and squint, it looks like scraggy leg hair and crusty scrabs
but close up, it looks quite cute 😉

Wow a real ‘marmite’ boot.. I like the idea but I think the application here is all wrong – it’s the colours I guess.. I want to like them but I can’t
