These shoes got no sole – literally. Aminaka Wilmont at London Fashion Week, S/S 09

We know we said we were fans of impractical shoes, but these ones are just a little bit much, even for us, especially given that you wouldn’t actually be able to go outside in them. Which is, we’ll sure you’ll agree, something of a deal-breaker when it comes to buying new shoes.

We should probably have seen this coming, of course. We’ve been seeing shoes without heels, or with the heels in strange places for a long time now, so we guess it makes sense that one day someone would have the bright idea of making them without soles instead. And here they are. These shoes were shown as part of the Aminaka Wilmont show at London Fashion Week this year. If you’re hoping to buy them, meanwhile… well, probably best not hold your breath.

It looks like someone taped her foot to a leg of furniture.
