High Street Hero: Summer dresses from Oasis

It’s been a while since we last nominated a High Street Hero, and today’s nominee isn’t ONE item, but many: basically, it’s the entire collection of summer dresses from Oasis

Summer dresses are one of the more fun fashion items out there: quirky prints, bright colours and interesting shapes abound, all helping to make summer our favourite style season. Everyone else may be obsessed with Fall, but give us a fabulous summer dress and a great pair of shoes and we’ll be far happier than we ever in the coats, boots and layers which we’re forced into in the colder months of the year.

Summer dresses are also one of the easiest items to actually wear. They’re basically a complete outfit in themselves, and assuming you’ve found a shape that flatters your figure, all you need is a pair of shoes and you’re good to go. Sure, you can add accessories, cardigans and other layers if you want to, but you don’t have to spend too much time worrying about finding things that “go”, which is good news if you’re a fan of un-fussy dressing.

Of course, as much as we love the simplicity of summer dresses, it can also have its downside. Dresses in general tend to be a little less versatile than separates, and it’s not as easy to “remix” them into different outfits, especially on hot days, when the last thing you want to do is add another layer. Still, we guess that’s as good an excuse as any to own a wide variety of shapes and styles, so that you never run out of options…

We’ve nominated Oasis as a High Street Hero in the world of summer dresses, because, as far as we’re concerned, they’ve being doing some absolutely excellent work in the field this season. We rarely look at the Oasis website without finding yet another beautiful dress to lust over, and we reckon they have a large enough selection to suit almost everyone. We’ve picked out some of our current favourites below: if you want to see some more, however, you can check out the Oasis website here.
