Cheap Monday tries to bring back 90s jeans

90s jeans

Cheap Monday describe these as “mega 90s jeans“.

Now, it might just be us, but The Fashion Police lived through the 90s, and, indeed, wore jeans for much of that decade, and we don’t remember seeing many people walking around like this. Then again, The Fashion Police have never been edgy or “bang on trend”, so that might be why.

And, OK, the high waistband is definitely very 90s. One thing’s for sure: if you weren’t a pear shape at the start of that decade, you would have been one by the end of it: or at least, until you took your jeans off, that is.

It’s just… we don’t remember 90s jeans being this unflattering, can you? And if you weren’t around to witness 90s fashion for yourselves, what do you think of these now?

I was five when the 90s ended, so I guess I can’t say much, but I am kind of hoping higher-waisted jeans come back; then maybe people won’t feel the need to show off their underwear and tail ends to the world…

I definitely don’t remember your average 90’s jeans being that unflattering. Perhaps they just put the model in a pair that was too big and then pinned the waist. The ones I wore were high-waisted and somewhat loose, but they fit properly, unlike these.

I just looked at your 90s fashion page again, and all the jeans the actors from 90210 wear in that picture are MUCH more flattering and fitting WAY better than this abomination here.
And I admit to wearing a lot of ill-fitting stuff myself during the 90s…

This IS the ugliest pair of jeans I ever saw in my life. They will hunt me now in my fashion nightmares.. brr

The 90s had some fugly jeans but nothing this bad. By the time the wide leg had gained popularity the waistband had lowered significantly. I really don’t remember anyone wearing high-waisted drop crotch wide legged stone washed mom jeans.

I disagree. I definitely remember some very unflattering jeans in the 90’s, but none of us thought they were ugly at the time. But any TV shows from the very early 90’s shows some pretty iffy jean choices (think Ellen, Party of Five, first season of Friends, Home Improvement, even first season of The Sopranos…all dreadful paper bag jeans)

I remember terrible jeans like that, but usually worn by guys. I’m not sure that makes it any better though.
