Garter leggings are not pants either

leggings are not pants

You're probably thinking this is some kind of hosiery or lingerie and that, like most forms of lingerie/hosiery, they're designed to be worn underneath your other clothes. "Fashion Police," you're probably crying, "It's not your jurisdiction! Get out of people's lingerie drawers and let them wear what they like underneath their clothes!"

Well, as much as we'd love to get out of this model's drawers, we just can't. Because these aren't lingerie or hosiery. They're leggings. Garter leggings, to be precise. And what's the use of a garter legging, if people can't see the garters? Exactly.

We put it to you, ladies and gentlemen of the Fashion Police jury, that these leggings are designed to be worn as pants. And we're sure we don't need to remind you that that's makes them a clear-cut crime of fashion.

What do you think, though: ARE these a crime of fashion?

Okay, maybe if they were worn with some kind of witch get-up for Halloween.
That seems to be all most modern fashion is suited foe: Halloween and costumes parties.

This witch would definitely wear these. :-) In fact I have a catsuit with this same garter-like arrangement that I wear for ‘special’ occasions. I would point out that you don’t have to wear these as pants; you could wear them with a tunic or short dress and just give a hint of the garter-like leggings. That would be way sexier than wearing them as shown here.

Oh! to be 18 and on the march for things new and different. At this point in life a different set of parameters filter through my mind.
I remember coming home from College with seamed stockings and a garter belt. My mother, thinking panty hose were the road to liberation, thought I’d lost my mind.
I would have died for these, but now, I think,
If worn in summer, the tan lines would be bizarre.
We would have to rid our thighs of hair in the winter months. And who needs freezing thighs? Those little metal clasps look cold. Could they possibly freeze onto the skin? Being Canadian, I consider these things.
