The Fashion Police aren't going back to school this September. We are, however, going back to school shopping, because, well, any excuse really.
We're sure we're not the only ones who see the start of the new season as a great excuse for an "out with the old, in with the new" style re-evaluation of our wardrobes, though. The weather is cooler, the new season fashions are starting to trickle into the stores, the pencils are being sharpened. Well, OK, maybe not that last bit. So, in honour of the back to school shopping season, over the next couple of weeks, we'll be taking a look at what's in store - literally - for the Autumn/Winter season. And, as always, we're kicking off with a look at Primark's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.
This collection is... well, it looks cosy, let's put it that way. Except for that one outfit, of course, where the model's all bundled up in sweater, shirt and pants, but is wearing strappy sandals on her bare feet. Because when it's cold enough for two layers on top, it's definitely warm enough for bare feet, right?
As far as the rest of this collection goes, there's tweed. There's wool. There's dogtooth check. There's blazers. There's lots and lots of sensible looking sweaters. There's a grumpy looking model who folds her arms across her chest a lot, because... we have no idea, actually. Is she cold? Angry? What is the mystery of the folded-arm model?!
Where were we? Oh yeah: sweaters, tweed and blazers. Is this sounding exactly the same as EVERY Autumn/Winter season so far? Yeah we thought so. Fear not, though: making Winter 2012 different from most of the winters that have gone before it, this year you can prepare to give a lukewarm welcome to....
They look just dandy with all that tweed, don't you think? You can also say hello to printed trousers. They'll be everywhere this winter, and they'll be in prints you can't even begin to imagine yet. But you will. Oh, you will.
