Richard Nicholl creates wedding collection for Topshop

Richard Nicholl for Topshop bridal collection

Say you're a bride-to-be who's also a fashionista. Where are you going to get your wedding dress? You can't get a regular dress, obviously: you need to be edgy and fashion-forward at all times, and if you're getting married in the summer of 2012, say, that basically means you're going to need some kind of a mullet skirt. Ideally one of the ones that take the form of a short skirt, with a sheer maxi skirt over the top - a bit like a veil for your legs, basically. See? Bridal! You're also probably going to need a pair of ugly, clumpy shoes, ideally by Jeffrey Campbell.

Well, we can't help you with the shoes (or not right at this second, anyway. We're more than sure we'll have some ugly shoes for you to oggle soon...) but we can help you with the fashion-forward wedding dress, because Topshop have just joined forces with Richard Nicholl to create their first ever bridal collection. It's called "Tie the Knot", and while some of the pieces are aimed at the blushing bride herself, others would be appropriate for any kind of party or other special event.

We'll be interested to hear what you all think of this collection. Would you want an up-to-the-minute, "bang on trend" wedding dress, for instance, or do you think it's best to stick to something classic, that won't scream "SUMMER 2012" when you're looking back at your wedding photos, many years from now?

Bad enough people wear their pajamas to the grocery store. Now they want to wear them down the aisle? Ug-u-lee.

Not only are the clothes ugly, that model looks high on something: she’s slouching, her hair and makeup are a mess, and her blank expression totally screams, “I’m stoned!”
I’ll go for classic wedding dress, thank you.

  • Coolio. I love the strappy corset style dress. The pink would make great bridesmaids’ dresses.
