Gladiator sandals make a comeback, Fashion Police weep

gladiator sandals

Remember that time back in the mid-late 00s when everyone was wearing gladiator sandals, and it was all Sienna Miller's fault? The Fashion Police have never been busier, seriously. And when that time ended, and the gladiator sandals started to fade off our fashion radar, we wiped the sweat off our brows, opened a fresh box of doughnuts and thanked the Gods of Fashion that it was finally over and we could finally move on.

And now they're back. And how.

These ones are by Jeffrey Campbell, and we're hoping they're an isolated incident, because if all of the Lita wearers decide to switch to these instead, we're going to have to employ new officers to deal with it.

Or... maybe we won't. Because maybe you like the gladiator sandals, and welcome their return to the fashion landscape? Well, do you? We'd love to hear what you think...

I like gladiator sandals, but this tips the border into ridiculous.

Like a cross between gladiator sandals and those horrible jelly bracelets everyone wore 10 years ago. :-)

I love my gladiators, but I bought mine from Birkenstock back in the early 90s cause they were girlier than the regular birks the lesbians in my Women’s Studies classes wore. (true story)

  • I love gladiator sandals, not this particular pair but I have a pair that I love.

  • The print looks like moss combined with a skin disease. Plus they look positively creepy to wear…all those loose hoops would be constantly crawling up and down your legs with every step. Yuck!

  • I love Gladiator Sandals as long as they stop at the ankle. Wearing them up my fat calves – I don’t think so!

  • I like gladiator sandals that stop at the ankle, but I really don’t like the weird sandal-boot hybrids that go up any further. I sure hope gladiators aren’t a crime of fashion though because I have a pair that I love and I’m wearing them now.
