Asymmetry in fashion has been around for as long as… well, for as long as symmetry has, basically. For the past year or so, however, we’ve been seeing a whole lot more of it than usual, and the epicentre of the asymmetric universe can be found at Zara, where it’s currently difficult to find a skirt that DOESN’T have one side longer than the other.
What do you think of these wonky-hemmed wonders, Fashion Police jurors? Zara have created a whole collection of them for you, as you can see from the gallery below, and if you like the asymmetric look, you’ll have plenty to choose for. Some of the skirts have the longer section at the front, for instance, while others have it at the side. Some are pleated, some are plain. Some are green, some are black. This much is evident from a quick glance at the photos. What we need YOU to do, however, is to take this a step further and categorise these as either “ugly” or “not “ugly”, “guilty” or “innocent”.
What do you think of the asymmetric look?

Maybe I could have liked it if they had styled it properly. Why do most of the models have to wear heavy, chunky shoes? Although it’s not on the red carpet, I still feel like there are angels being killed here. And those shapeless sweaters don’t help either.
These skirts always seem to scream, “Hey! Look at my knees!” A body part that while highly functional, is not one I wish to highlight.
Whoever styled these looks should be fired. The skirts themselve are quite cuute but the styling is just sad. I have two of these Zara skirts and they are perfect for summer. I wore mine on holiday quite a lot. Picture of how I styled my skirt:

and here’s the black one:

though if I had just seen these pictures and not in real life I don’t think I would have ever bought these skirts. The tucked in sweashirt rivals the boots in ugliness!
Mullet skirts!!!
I don’t like them at all.
Haha agreed!. Me and my sister play spot the mullet skirt/dress instead of spot the punch buggy.
I have to say that I really dig the front-back lateral asymmetrical pleated skirt, and the emerald green color makes it appealing, too. However, this almost hits me as nice on the runway/catalog/lookbook but in real life it may just come across cheap looking and/or slipshod. Perhaps an asymmetrical but fitted dress would make it more classy because the skirts aren’t completely convincing me.
Criminal. I’ve lost track of the number of skirts that have elicited the reaction of “Oooh, pretty… Oh, nevermind” becauase they were asymetrical.
I actually quite like them. I bet they’ll be all over the place in the next few years, and all the commenters on here would wear them too
