1. The Blogger Bun
Sometimes it was small, and scraped back from the head, like a DIY facelift. And sometimes it was big, and messy, like a whole second head. The blogger bun reigned supreme throughout 2011: what will take over in 2012?
2. Animal print
Animal print is one of those “trends” that never really dies. It definitely got a new lease of life in 2011, though, and cropped up on everything: you could literally have dressed yourself head-to-toe in animal print, if you really wanted to. We’re glad you didn’t, though.
Skater dresses, in all colours, lengths and styles: may they live forever.
If your jeans were plain old blue or black this season, well, you just weren’t paying attention in fashion class, were you?
A hangover from 2010, colour blocking continued to dominate the fashion world this year. So much so, in fact, that sometimes our officers start trying to type the word in their sleep, they’ve written it so many times. Colourblocking…colourblocking…colourblocking…colourblocking…
6. Midi skirts
Some of you hated the midi, while others were just glad to finally have an option other than the micro-mini. Whatever you thought of them, however, they were hard to escape, and they’re still around now. We’re happy: are you?
7. Macarons
OK, so they’re not actually clothing, but fashion bloggers spent so much time “squeeing” over them this year that they may as well have been. They ousted cupcakes from the coveted position of “most photographed item of food”, and we’re secretly hoping that next year’s fashionable food is something like the Big Mac. Just for the variety.

Guilty of animal print and colored denim. And once a colorblock. But never-never-never the macarons! In Russian “macaroni” is pasta. And I don’t like all those colored foods.. nononono

Hmmmmmm… I wore almost none of those, save for the very infrequent skater dress. Does that make me fashion-forward or just someone living under a permanent fashion rock? I’m pretty sure it’s the latter.
Maybe 2012 has something awesome in store for us…. Like hover shoes or something. I’ve always wanted some of those. Or maybe flare jeans and peep-toed boots will finally be banished from the earth….? The possibilities are endless!

Colourblocking…..sometimes I did, sometimes I didn’t….it depends

I am guilty of the bun, but not sure if it counts as a ‘blogger’ bun because I have dreadlocks. My excuse is that it’s just incredibly practical for hot days and housework. My grandmother also gave me incredible macaroons for xmas that she made herself, but also not sure if this counts because it would have been cake like everyone else were it not for my celiac disease. So….accidental coolness? Yes? Please???
