Pippa Middleton got herself a thorough telling off from some sections of the media this week for allegedly committing a "Leggings As Pants" crime.
Now, at first glance, we had just assumed she was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans/jeggings. It can be hard to tell the difference these days, can't it? It's only when you see the rear view that the truth becomes apparent:
Of course, Pippa Middleton's rear view is pretty famous, and regularly seems to be described as "perfect". In fact, apparently it has driven many a woman to the plastic surgeon, in a bid to get one just like it. Does the "perfect" rear get a free pass when it comes to leggings as jeans, though, or is Pippa just as guilty as anyone else who goes down the slippery slope of replacing pants with ... non-pants?

She does have a killer bod, but she should have worn a tunic or long shirt that covers her butt.
I agree. They are really not doing her any favours. Wearing a long shirt/tunic would have looked so much better.
If her derriere was actually as perfect as you describe it, and her thighs weren`t as nearly unattractive (she needs to cover them up!!! even if she`s wearing skinny jeans), I may have considered giving her a pass if the coat was at least a little bit longer ans she was wearing knee-high boots.
She has nice thighs, but I don’t think her butt is anything special either.
I don’t think I’d bat an eyelid if I passed her on the street, but then again I honestly don’t care what Pippa Middleton wears. The fact that her, and her sister, are photographed and emblazoned across the pages of fashion magazines will continue to baffle me.
As a no-uk-girl (im Belgian) I couldn’t care less about Pippa Middleton, I don’t get the bum-thing either. I know so many, for example African, women who have a great big shaped butt, this Pippa backside is just flat… I don’t get it, that’s all. And don’t care for the leggings.
I do follow the rule that you should cover your “behind” when wearing leggins, and I think that Pippa is overrated, her ass looks too flat to me; look at the amazing brazilian or mexican girls, they do have great butts
but I do admire the fact that she seems to do a lot of exercise, jus look at her legs
so, if wearing leggins, cover your rear with a mini dress or mini skirt, a long blouse or blazer, and use them only if you are slender and thin
She does have killer legs.

That said, I hate legging as pants! The font view is ok; but the back side… that ruins the whole outfit.

That look wouldn’t pass muster at Walmart, much less on the streets of London.
As someone who spends quite a bit of time at Wal-Mart (I work there), I can confidently tell you that if you need examples of the “no leggings as pants” rule, then I can point you at multiple customers who will require you to use the entire bottle of eye-bleach. There is no rule about pajamas in the store, either.
That said, I think Pippa would look better with a longer shirt or if she actually wore skinny jeans instead. It’s not the worst I’ve seen, but it’s not pretty, either.

Even though her butt absolutely is one of the best celebrity butts of all time, wearing leggins that way is just a total fashion no go. Pippa is one of my #1 style inspirations but this look really disappointed ma a little…
Why all the negativity? Fashion Police, let her out on bail. Guys like me who had their teens in the 90s believe the leggins’ butt is actually cute.

HORRENDUS. Leggings are not pants, and I don’t think they should even be legal without some sort of dress or LONG shirt covering your booty. I understand women want a good butt, but that’s what yoga pants are for honey. I’m from Kentucky, and even though we’re country, we still know the difference between pants and a butt sheet.
The front doesn’t look too bad, and I like that green coat, but her backside just looks kind of wrinkly and stretchy and unflattering and awkward. If they had been black skinny jeans I would have really liked her outfit, but I think if she wanted to go with just leggings she should have worn a short dress or longer shirt to cover the bum.
I don’t think anyone should wear leggings as pants. Her butt isn’t terrible, but it looks wrinkly because of the leggings.
