Would we wear these shoes? Well, probably not, if we’re honest. Because Barbie may be A style icon, but she’s not exactly our style icon, if you know what we mean. Or since we were, ooh, about 21 10, anyway.

Do we still enjoy looking at them, though? Hell, yes. That’s why they’re Shoe Porn: they have a kind of “look, but don’t touch” vibe about them, especially given that they’re $695 and $350, respectively.

Now, having shown you these shoes, we feel duty-bound to report that neon colours are “bang on trend” (drinking game!) this season. And, of course, colourblocking is the fashion trend that just won’t quit. Don’t let this double-whammy of fashion-victimn-ness put you off, though, if you like them: these things were trends in the 80s, too, after all.

“Wanted” Wednesday: Oasis

fashion police wanted1 Wanted Wednesday: OasisEspecially for those of you who enjoy our occasional forays into the prettier side of fashion, we present Wanted Wednesday: a day when we will push the fashion crimes aside, and show you some of the things we’ve actually liked in our travels around the fashion web. It’ll be all rainbows and unicorns and positivity, and not like us at all, but hey: we have to give credit where credit’s due sometimes.

We’re starting off our Wanted Wednesday with some offerings from Oasis, which we’ve been mighty impressed with lately. For instance:

OK, so it’s not so much “ballerina” as it is “60s bombshell”, but we like it. Imagine it with Dusty Springfield hair and lots of black eyeliner, for full effect. But if that’s too sweet and innocent for you, how about this one:

These boots can’t decide whether they want to be heels or wedges. Or ice skates.

We can’t decide whether we want to lock them up and throw away the key, or set them free. Well, OK, we CAN decide. We’re going to let you make the decision for us, though, just so we can confirm that our initial hunch about these us correct, so tell us: are they guilty or innocent of the charge of committing crimes of fashion?
