Speaking of bad Halloween costumes, here’s Nicki Minaj at the 2011 American Music Awards Nominations Press Conference in LA last night. Nicki actually has no connection whatsoever to the subject of Halloween costumes, bad or otherwise: these are just her regular clothes. Which makes us wonder how many Mini Minaj clones will be walking the streets on October 31st, along with the Little Monsters? Time will tell. In the meantime, is it wrong that we really like her eyeshadow? Because if it is, then we don’t WANT to be right.

At least she has the nerve to look unhappy in this getup. If I was forced to be seen in public like this, I’d be pretty unhappy too.
Nicki Minaj is often compared to GaGa style-wise but I have to say, I don’t see it. Gaga always seems to have a method to her madness and her looks have some unity, Minaj always looks like she just raided an oversize toddler clothing store and then got dressed with a blindfold on. It’s just very “Pay attention to me! I’m kar-ayzee! I’m just like Gaga! I’ve got blue hair! Aren’t I so Edgy and Brave?”
For me it less Gaga and more Bai Ling … Minaj doesn’t seem to be making any sort of statement other than, “Look at me! Aren’t I just craaazzy?”, where at least Gaga has the cred to wear the more outlandish stuff.
I actually quite like her skirt….but not with everything else! It’s just a mess! And she doesn’t even seem to enjoy wearing it, cos, fair enough, if she’s happy wearing it, great! But she looks so angry!! I wouldn’t say she was like Gaga….as said above, Gaga seems to have at least a theme….Minaj doesn’t.
Yeap, I have to admit it too, I like the skirt a lot, but only the skirt!

Her makeup looks horrific. Not only is it obviously contoured, but it makes her look like she has a 5 o’clock shadow!! The eyeshadow is the only good thing about her makeup. She needs to fire her makeup artist. Everything else? Eh. I feel like she’s run out of crazy ideas. If she doesn’t reinvent herself soon, people are going to get bored.
She confuses me.
