When The Fashion Police first learned that there was going to be a collaboration between two of the most frequent inhabitants of our cells, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela and Opening Ceremony, we instantly knew that we would, once again, have to call on reinforcements.
We were right.
Let's just take a closer look at the evidence here, shall we?
Folks, we got us a Half-Jean situation here: all units stand by!
It's also a stirrup pant half-jean situation. It's too early in the morning for this, isn't it?
Now, when you hear the phrase "half-jean", you'd possibly assume we were dealing with something like this, by Cheap Monday, a few seasons ago:
Or possibly even this...
... which is half jean, half sock.
Instead, though, we have what Opening Ceremony call a "denim stirrup".
They're jeans without the crotch, basically. And also without the thighs. They're denim legwarmers, really, aren't they? Baggy ones.
They're also $195, which is just staggering to us. And we hope that elastic is tight enough to cause skin imprints, otherwise we can imagine having to yank the things up all day long, in the manner of hold-ups which have lost their "sticky".
Thankfully, the rest of the MM6 Maison Martin Margiela x Opening Ceremony line is a little less odd looking.
That's not to say we'd actually want to wear it, though.
