We've talked a lot recently about the colourblocking trend which has such a firm grip on the world of fashion at the moment that it shows no sign of giving up, so here are two examples of it in action, both from the 2011 'Do Something' Awards, held last week in California. What we want to know is who you think colourblocked the best?
On the left, we have Tyra Banks. Tyra, of course, needs no introduction, although her pink, green and blue outfit may need a pair of sunglasses to allow you to look at it.
On the right, meanwhile, is actress Kelli Goss, whose IMDB page is here, for the benefit of those of you who're scratching your heads and saying, "Kelli WHO?" Kelli went for the two-tone colourblock, which is a little-less in-your-face than Tyra's three-way, and combines blue and yellow with a pair of hooves, we mean boots, which we personally want to rip off her feet and consign to the depths of the Fashion Police jail, because every time someone wears a pair of workboots on the red carpet, with a dress, an angel dies, true story.
Who colourblocked best? Which outfit do you prefer and why? Or, in other words, who is the winner of the Star Style War?

Even though she is killing an angel, I like Kelli’s outfit better. It is less shocking for the eyes, colorwise. However, I must say that her boots don’t go at all–not just the fact that they are work boots, but the black is very contrasting–almost too contrasting, if there is not any other black to balance it out! That is just my opinion though.
I think “Killing An Angel” has to be the new official phrase for the wearing of that particular type of boot in this way!
I think that Tyra really went for it with the colorblocking as far as fashion goes. Shoes, nails, everything: Tyra used color. Kelly’s outfit is a little softer and cuter, and has a couple neutral colors, which is why most people prefer it. I actually like both of these outfits, although I would never wear them.
i prefer the colors of Tyra’s outfit better, but that’s about all it’s got going for it.
Kelly’s style is more hip, fresh, and age-appropriate. the boots have GOT to go (though i may actually like them paired with skinny jeans and an outfit more casual), but her necklace is fabulous! now just time to do something about that hair…

I prefer Kelli’s look. I think the colors are better suited and I think the actual pieces of clothing work better.
I much prefer Tyra’s outfit. I think the colours are much nicer, although I think the trousers would’ve been better as a skirt. And I don’t like the shoes, but they are better than ‘Killing an Angel’ shoes.
I don’t think that either one of them does it particularly well, but I’m gonna have to go with Kelli Goss!
I like both of them, but prefer Tyra’s. Kelly’s would be awesome with bright shoes!

I think Tyra’s outfit is an example of colour-blocking where as Kellie is just wearing two items of different colours together? I think you need at least 3 contrasting colours in an outfit for it to be true colour blocking, therefore Tyra wins! Kellie’s outfit is cute though and I agree the black boots are too heavy for the outfit.
