Strange Sunnies: The Eyebrow Sunglasses by Laura Kranitz

eyebrow shades Strange Sunnies: The Eyebrow Sunglasses by Laura Kranitz

Sunglasses with fake (gold) eyebrows attached to them: why has no one done this before? (Other than joke stores selling Groucho Marx costumes, we mean.) Seriously, think of the possibilities for people who over-pluck, people who can’t be bothered to pluck, people with unibrows, eyebrow rugs, or just generally badly groomed eyebrows. Pop on a pair of sunglasses, et voila! Your eyebrows will be gold, but they will be perfect! (If you call this look “perfect”, that is. We don’t, but you might.)

These are $42 – click here to buy them.

Dee V by Diana Vickers: the latest celebrity-turned-fashion-designer

diana vickers clothing line Dee V by Diana Vickers: the latest celebrity turned fashion designer

As most of you know, all you have to do to be able to call yourself a “fashion designer” these days is to… have a hit song. Or be a TV presenter. Or appear on a reality TV show.

The latest celebrity to take the “I can sing, so by God, I can also design!” route into the fashion world is the UK’s Diana Vickers, who, you may or may not know, appeared on X-Factor a couple of years ago, and although she didn’t win, she did do pretty well out of it, scoring a record deal and a musical. And now a fashion line.

These items are from the Dee V by Diana Vickers line for Very.co.uk, and despite our cynicism towards celebrity “designers”, we must admit, we were a lot more impressed with these items than we expected to be. In fact, there’s a certain bird-print skirt which could just have our name on it, and that’s not something we expected to be saying when we first heard about this line.

This is all pretty standard, current-trend stuff: we have the 70s flares, the 50s skirt, the midi dress, the animal-print playsuit… but it looks rather nice, and the prices are reasonable, so we’ll be interested to see how it develops.

What do you think of these designs? You can see the rest of the range in the gallery below, or click here if you want to buy anything.

Style on Trial: Denim wellies

We know that colourful wellies are very popular these days – and not just for festival goers.  But then we came across this pair which have a jeans-style denim print and we wondered what you would think of them?  The brown part is supposed to look like leather, apparently.

Tell us what you think in the comments: are they a do or a don’t?  And if you want to buy them, they are €74 at Giesswein (who also stock all manner of other colourful rain boots).
