Fashion Police in Cannes: Salma Hayek in a red leather Gucci dress
Well, that’s an unual detail on Salma Hayek’s shoulders, isn’t it? In fact, it looks almost like Anthony Banderas!
Whoops, our mistake! That IS Anthony Banderas, and he’s not actually on her shoulders, he’s just standing behind them. Which was a bit of a disappointment, actually, because when first we glanced at this photo, we were all, “Wow, Salma is STRONG! You go girl!” But we’re not here to talk about Anthony Banderas, or Salma’s strength. We’re here to talk about her red leather Gucci dress:
This was the best photo our agency had of it. Yes, we were disappointed too, because this has to be one of the more interesting red carpet dresses of recent times. A leather dress? In that heat? And a shrug over the top? It may look good (or, of course, it may not, and we’ll let you be the judge of that), but it makes us feet HOT. And not in a good way.

Fashion Police at the Cannes Film Festival: Rachel McAdams in white
The Cannes Film Festival is now under way, which means a busy few days for The Fashion Police. It’s a tough job, but don’t worry, we’ll soak up all that sunshine so you don’t have to!
Here’s Rachel McAdams at a photocall for ‘Midnight in Paris’. Rachel has white flowers growing on the hips and shoulders of her Maxime Simoens dress, with her pink lipstick bringing the only bit of colour to the look.
White dresses seem very Cannes to us, and we rather like this one, but what do you think?

Modelling is Hard: Rag and Bone combat pants with knee holes
Modelling is hard. Seriously, you think it’s all glamour and fancy parties, but the reality is that it doesn’t even pay well enough for you to replace your pants when the knees wear out in them.

Long or Short? Bettie Page’s Captain dress, as seen on Holly Madison
Bettie Page’s ‘Captain’ dress has been available for a while now, and is a Fashion Police favourite: in fact, if we ever launch a nautical division*, this dress will be part of the uniform of its officers.
Holly Madison obviously likes the dress too, as she was spotted wearing it earlier this month. Not only is Holly wearing the dress, however, she’s also butchered the dress, hacking several inches off the hemline to create this mini version, just as Blair did on Gossip Girl that time.
Is the change for the better or for the worse, though? Well, that’s what we want you to tell us. Do you prefer Holly’s shortened version, Bettie Page’s original version, or neither? And why?
