Not many people could wear this Prada dress without it looking just a tad shapeless: that straight-up-and-down cut is elegant on the right person, but on the wrong one, well, it could end up making the wearer look a little too much like a rectangle.

Is Milla Jovovich the right person or the wrong one for this dress, though? Well, it’s up to you to decide, but we think she’s looking pretty good here, and the hair and makeup matches the Old Hollywood style of the dress perfectly:

We’re much less impressed with this dress, which looks like it’s clinging onto her for dear life. A wardrobe malfunction appears to be imminent, and while we’re hoping she had the neckline securely anchored with some good ol’ Hollywood tape, it always makes us uncomfortable to witness outfits about to drop off their owners.

Charlotte Gainsbourg, meanwhile, has been attracting some criticism for this outfit, which she wore to the Melancholia premiere last night, and which has a very sheer top-section, exposing her baby bump:

We’ve always been of the opinion that pregnant women get a more-or-less free pass when it comes to fashion (as long as they’re not breaking the bounds of common decency, obviously). God knows, it must be hard enough to stay stylish during a pregnancy, and to be honest, style is probably the last thing on an expectant mother’s mind, so as long as they’re comfortable, that’s good enough for us.

That said, we’re not fans of sheer dresses on ANYONE, at ANY time, and we reckon a bit less underwear exposure would’ve helped here:
