Lea Michele and the coat of many colours

FP 7212133 Glee AAR 08 42 2 Lea Michele and the coat of many colours

This photo was actually taken on the set of Glee (or in Times Square whilst filming Glee, rather) so Lea Michele can be neither blamed nor praised for this outfit, as she’s wearing it as part of the day job, rather than through choice.

We kind of wish we could be paid to wear multicoloured coats whilst dancing in Times Square now, don’t you?

Take a look under the jump to see what Lea’s cast mates are wearing…

Handbag of the Week: ASOS green tooled leather satchel

asos tooled leather satchel Handbag of the Week: ASOS green tooled leather satchel

ASOS do a great line in leather satchels, as you may recall from previous Handbags of the Week. We like the fact that this one gets away from the traditional “school satchel” look by using a vibrant green colour and a tooled floral design. It’s bigger than it looks in this photo, too:

And the price? £55, which isn’t too bad for a leather bag.

Celebrity Style on Trial: Milla Jovovich and Charlotte Gainsbourg in Cannes

Milla Jovovich in Prada FW11 Cannes 18 05 11 Celebrity Style on Trial: Milla Jovovich and Charlotte Gainsbourg in CannesNot many people could wear this Prada dress without it looking just a tad shapeless: that straight-up-and-down cut is elegant on the right person, but on the wrong one, well, it could end up making the wearer look a little too much like a rectangle.

Is Milla Jovovich the right person or the wrong one for this dress, though? Well, it’s up to you to decide, but we think she’s looking pretty good here, and the hair and makeup matches the Old Hollywood style of the dress perfectly:

FP 7336423 ANG Chopard 10 27 Celebrity Style on Trial: Milla Jovovich and Charlotte Gainsbourg in CannesWe’re much less impressed with this dress, which looks like it’s clinging onto her for dear life. A wardrobe malfunction appears to be imminent, and while we’re hoping she had the neckline securely anchored with some good ol’ Hollywood tape, it always makes us uncomfortable to witness outfits about to drop off their owners.

Charlotte Gainsbourg, meanwhile, has been attracting some criticism for this outfit, which she wore to the Melancholia premiere last night, and which has a very sheer top-section, exposing her baby bump:

FP 7336493 API Melancholia 08 11 Celebrity Style on Trial: Milla Jovovich and Charlotte Gainsbourg in CannesWe’ve always been of the opinion that pregnant women get a more-or-less free pass when it comes to fashion (as long as they’re not breaking the bounds of common decency, obviously). God knows, it must be hard enough to stay stylish during a pregnancy, and to be honest, style is probably the last thing on an expectant mother’s mind, so as long as they’re comfortable, that’s good enough for us.

That said, we’re not fans of sheer dresses on ANYONE, at ANY time, and we reckon a bit less underwear exposure would’ve helped here:

Daylight Robbery? The $700 shin pads

julien david shin pads Daylight Robbery? The $700 shin pads

These are shin pads.

They cost $709.

That’s not a typo.

The justification for this? Well, they’re ostrich leather, but they’re also DESIGNER. And that, as every good fashion victim knows, is enough to make just about ANYTHING worth hundreds of dollars. Even shin pads.

Here’s how you’d wear your $700 shin pads:

Frankenshoes: Marc Jacobs raffia heel sandals

marc jacobs fringe heel shoes Frankenshoes: Marc Jacobs raffia heel sandals

Well, it looks like it was craft time in the Marc Jacobs household, no?

Here’s an easy fashion DIY for you all:

1. Take a pair of boring old sandals

2. Add the leftover tinsel from the Christmas tree to the heel. Failing that, shred some tinfoil and use that instead.

3. Add some more to the toe.

4. Charge people $840 to buy the results.

5. Sit back and laugh as the money rolls in.

Or, alternatively, just click here and buy them. It’ll help encourage Marc Jacobs to make more of the same…
