Saks would have you believe that this Jil Sander creation is a “bubble gown”. Well we’re calling them out on that, and telling you that it’s a sack. A dry-clean only, cotton/nylon/elastane sack, but still a sack. Stitch up the bottom and you could carry all sorts in it.
So how much are they charging for this sack dress? Does $2,675 sound reasonable to you?
Reader Lindsay also spotted this at Net-a-Porter, where it is sold out(!). Who buys this stuff? Who?
Saks Fifth Avenue still have it in stock however, and will be glad to relieve you of your sense money here.

Why? Why would anyone spend good money for such a hideous look? I don’t see it flattering any figure type. I’ll pass.
I just don’t understand! Whenever I go to formal events the ladies are always dressed in more or less tasteful clothes that at least follow some semblance of a human shape.
Maybe there is an ugly dress fairy buying all the ugly dresses so we never have to see them in the real world…it’s a nice thought.
We can only hope….
Obviously, Angelina Jolie bought one.
Just imagine how much she can steal in a supermarket!!
hahaha it looks like they took all of stuff out of a bean bag chair, and then cut holes in it so she could wear it
Ha ha @Andrew, I actually thought it looked like a Hefty garbage bag, but it does look like a bean bag chair too! Tee hee.
If I were that model, and had starved myself for years for my work, I would shoot the person who handed me this dress, then go eat a doughnut.
I love this picture. The dress makes such a dramatic silhouette. But for daily wear? This dress would eat me, I’m so thin…
