Jeffery Campbell’s ‘Lita’ boots grow up, get hairy

jefferey campbell lita boots Jeffery Campbells Lita boots grow up, get hairyJeffery Campbell’s Lita boots: they’ve become the uniform of choice for the fashion blogging brigade and, indeed, there was a point last year when we started to wonder if there was some rule about having to own a pair of either these or Jessica Simpson’s ‘Dany’ before being allowed to start such a blog. (We’re still wondering, actually…)

Anyway, this is the latest incarnation of the Lita, and as you can see, Campbell has cunningly combined two trends in one with this, making the boot both clunky AND hairy. If only he’d added a peeptoe, it would be fashion victim perfection, no? They would describe it as “edgy” and “fierce” and all kinds of other “fashionista” words.

They probably will, anyway, won’t they?

What do you think of the latest Lita, readers? Are you as enamoured of these as with the other versions of the boot? Maybe you didn’t even like them to start with? Please share with the class….

We couldn’t have said it better than this sweater does. Thank you, Ashish, for basically writing this post for us!

As far as the rest of the collection goes, our main observation is this: haven’t Hot Topic being doing this kind of thing for years, minus the sequins? Does this mean Avril Lavigne’s going to suddenly be fashionable? Can someone please hold us?

It’s like a modesty panel for your crotch, isn’t it?

And, you know, if it was a FULL skirt, it might be… no, scratch that: it wouldn’t be OK. Full-skirt or half-skirt, The Fashion Police remain firm on our original ruling: SKIRTS AND PANTS DO NOT MIX. Either wear skirts, or wear pants. Your butt does NOT need a curtain, people, we promise you:

double cardigan Marni give us two cardigans for the price of <strike>one</strike> six

We were going to say this cardigan was a “two for the price of one” deal, but it’s actually more like one for the price of six, because if we ever find ourselves paying £320 for a single cardigan, we’ll know we’ve either become rich beyond our wildest dreams, or been totally taken in by a Daylight Robbery criminal.

If we ever find ourselves buying two cardigans that are physically attached to each other, meanwhile, we’ll know we’ve just lost our minds.

What about you? Would you pay £320 for a pair of conjoined cardigans? Click here if so…

Designer on a Budget: Red flared dresses from DKNY and Zara

red dresses dkny zara Designer on a Budget: Red flared dresses from DKNY and Zara

The bright red dress is something of a wardrobe staple for many people, and a great way to make a big impact with a really simple piece. We loved DKNY’s three-quarter sleeved version, with it’s flippy skirt and gorgeous, cherry-red colour… but then we spotted this very similar dress at Zara, which is £170 cheaper, leaving us enough left over to buy a pair of killer heels to go with it. Or a bag. Or a coat. Or… you get the picture…

Which one would you go for, ladies and gentlemen of the fashion jury? DKNY Vs Zara?
