Before we go any further here, let us first of all point out that "Heel Condoms" is the actual brand name of this product, not just something we made up for the sheer hell - or heel - of it.
With that out of the way, let us also point out that if you were hoping this post was going to be about something a little bit saucy, for want of a better word, you're going to be sadly disappointed, because it's actually about shoes, and these little heel covers you can slide over the back of them to make them look a little different: a "heel condom" if you will.
They're ready for their close-ups:
The pictures are pretty self-explanatory here: you just slide them over the the heel of your shoe, then slide them back off when you're bored with them and fancy a change. They cost between $20 - $40 per pair, and they're available to order here.
What do you think of them, though?

Good Idea!!! Very creative and practical!!! My only doubt is – How will it fit different types of heels??? I mean, the thickness, height, shape etc of heels are different in every shoe!!!
Despite the totally lame name, I actually kind of like the idea. For that price, I definitely wouldn’t buy them, though.
I think it’s a great idea. Looks like they made out of fabric so they’ll probably adjust to different heel heights and width. Wish I would have thought of that, just bought myself a new sewing machine.
Aha! That’s what I’m talking about. Now, bring in the shoes that “reminded us of something…”
Unfortunate name, but an amazing concept.
Strange name, but the idea actually makes sense. I like the “straps with buttons” one the best.
I like them! If I wore heels more often I would be all over these.
Yes, good idea, especially when you have a bit of damage on the heel of an otherwise good pair of shoes.
I think they are wicked cute. But what an unfortunate name!
The feathered ones are awful! The concept is awesome for people on a budget but then it defeats the purpose because they are expensive for such a small (scrap) piece of fabric. Undoubtedly less expensive than buying a new pair of shoes though. Looking into making this for yourself is a good idea for those crafty types!
Appropriate name because wearing some of those will be birth control in itself.
I love these!! The concept is great!! But is it elastic? Will it fit over different heels?
