Holey Clothes: Evil Twin mesh tunic

evil twin mesh top Holey Clothes: Evil Twin mesh tunic

For some reason the trend for clothes with holes in continues apace.  When the item is question is made out of mesh though, it just looks as though the top has lost a fight with the washing machine and is now falling apart.  The poor model doesn’t look very happy either, does she?

“You want me to model this for sale?” she’s saying.  “But I thought that was the damaged stock rail.”

What do you think though?  Do you like the ready made holes or do you prefer your mesh garments to only have the holes that mesh is supposed to have?  If you like it and want to buy it, it is $118 at Shopbop.

Chain mail sleeves: the height of chivalric chic?

chain mail sleeve Chain mail sleeves: the height of chivalric chic?

Back in July you may recall the Fashion Police drawing your attention to Philippe Audibert’s singular swarovski crystal glove. While we could see the chain mail resemblance at the time, we found ourselves more emphatically dazzled by the Michael Jackson icon status of the thing.

This time around there’s no disguising the fact that this little number? Is better suited to the battlefield than the red carpet.

While certain officers on the squad are not averse to wearing “sleeves” in order to build up yet another layer against the office air con, the sleeves in question do tend to be donned for practical purposes. Also, warm. And, well, usually a pair.

Not so the Philippe Audibert Tema Swarovski crystal sleeve, which will give you all the glamour of the days of chivalry past, but only on one side. The other arm, well, frankly it’ll just have to go without. Unless you’re willing to shell out another £2,175 for the privilege of balance…

Nice skirt, shame about the pockets

nude skirt with pockets Nice skirt, shame about the pockets

For once, we’re not taking issue with the fact that this skirt is described as “nude”, because it’s actually not: it’s fully lined, and the colour of that lining ain’t fooling anyone about its existence.

Given that it’s a skirt with a perfectly adequate lining, then, why, oh WHY would you choose to put the pockets BETWEEN the delicate lace overlay and the lining. WHY? Is it supposed to look like a pair of blackened ovaries or something? Because it does. And we can’t think of a single good reason for it, can you?

Ugly Prom Dress: Lionella sexy long red dress

ugly prom dress Ugly Prom Dress: Lionella sexy long red dress

Well we guess ‘sexy’ is one word you could use to describe this dress.  We can think of another one that also begins with S, though.  Lionella describe this dress as having a ‘sensual revealing open front design’.  Again, ‘sensual’ was not the S word we were thinking of.

Aside from being rather chilly attending your winter prom in this dress, we can’t see that the organisers would be too thrilled at you turning up to their black tie event with your midriff most of your flesh on show.

If you think it’s just the job for your formal event though, you can buy it here for £36.68.

Best Dressed of the Week

We have a slightly smaller selection than usual for this week’s edition of Best Dressed of the Week, and that’s because, well, this week’s celebrity fashion wasn’t really all that much to write home about. You’ll see what we mean. First, though, a round of applause for last week’s winner:
