Louise Gray has come up with a great idea for Spring/Summer 2011, readers: ditch the socks, and just paint your feet white instead! It’s genius, isn’t it? From a distance, everyone will think you’re just wearing regular old socks:
Well, they will assuming they’re not too distracted by the belly window in your dress, that is. Think of all the money you’ll save on hosiery, though!
And OK, sure, painting your feet every day will be a little more time consuming than just pulling on a pair of socks. It’ll be a LOT messier, too. (Remember to let your feet dry thoroughly before putting on your shoes, or walking barefoot!).
You’ll be reassured, however, by the certain knowledge that you’re at the very cutting edge of fashion. “Edgy”. “Bang on trend.” All of those other phrases fashion victims like to use. And that’s what really matters, after all, isn’t it?
Think it’ll catch on, readers? We’re going to guess “probably not”. Stranger things have happened in the wonderful world of fashion, though. Stranger things have happened…

… and another example that modeling is glamorous beyond belief.
The poor girl in the second picture seems to be freezing to death. Maybe a pair of wooly socks would have helped?
Tanning a couple of times with your socks on will do the trick!
..think of how much you’ll save if you painted your shoes on too. Scorrre.
So this is a feet-pretending-to-be-socks crime? hehe…
Isn’t spring/summer kind of OVER for 2010?
At least you would avoid that sock indent you get on soft, fleshy, mortal legs.
You could also get tan lines with the same effect from wearing ankle boots in the sun.
Haha, true! Or a permanent “sock effect” by fake tanning your legs and not doing your feet – at least you wouldn’t have to paint them every day!
Surely with this much effort, it’s just quicker/cheaper to buy white socks
