It’s hard to know how to wear socks with your Chucks, isn’t it? Such a complex sartorial decision! Isn’t it wonderful, then, to know that Converse have taken all the hard work out of it, and created a pair of shoes which come with socks already attached? The Ugliest Leggings in all the Land? Frill leggings by KTZ
Most of the time when we arrest items for this site, we’re able to recognise that even although the item in question may not be to our personal taste, there’s someone, somewhere, who could probably look fantastic in it.
Not this time.
This time we’re just quietly horrified to think that someone, somewhere thought this was a good idea, because we can’t imagine these looking good on anyone. KTZ didn’t stop there, though: not content with adding huge, 80s-prom-dress-meets-ice-dance-costume ruffles to leggings, they also added them to skirts:

Moncler fur trim trapper hat – have you got yours yet?
Nope, not a dog – although you’d be forgiven for thinking so… In fact, this is a 100% raccoon fur trapper hat from Moncler, and, apparently, the must-have item of the season!
If you’re averse to wearing an animal on your head (we assume the raccoon-haters out there are already sold on this one) we urge you to think a little about the benefits. Just consider how cosy you’ll be in that arctic-condition weather so much of the world suffers this time of year. Imagine the near-constant joy to be found in a tickly forehead – not to mention the wonder of finding yet more fur moulting into your eyelashes…
And if that’s not for you, you can always find a strategic position within view of the front door and invest in a “beware of the dog” sign to deter unwanted visitors!

Spot the Difference: Bow shift dresses by Primark and Ted Baker
This post isn’t what you probably think it is. You see, normally when we show you this kind of lookie-likey thing, it’s the high street brand that’s been “inspired” by the designer. In this case, however, what you see in front of you is a Ted Baker dress from this season… which looks an awful lot like one Primark released in winter of 2008. Hmm.
Of course, we guess this could just be a co-incidence, albeit a big one, because while there are some subtle differences between the two designs, you’d have to be looking closely to spot them. The natural order of things has been reversed in order of price, too: we don’t remember how much the Primark dress retailed for when it came out, but it wasn’t more than £20 (you can now find them on eBay for less than that); the Ted Baker dress, meanwhile, is £129 at ASOS.com.
Which came first, we wonder?

Style on Trial: River Island leopard print platform heel sandals
When reader Emma alerted us to these sandals in the River Island newsletter, it was as if we’d fallen asleep and woken up in 1994. We can see that a 90s revival is imminent, with velvet dresses adorning the rails on the high street, and heels becoming increasingly more chunky. But have River Island taken it a step (no pun intended!) too far with these shoes? It’s a style we’re seeing more and more of at the moment, so let’s put it to the vote: yay or nay?
