Fashion Trends: Hats with ears and animal heads

hats with ears from river island Fashion Trends: Hats with ears and animal heads

Hats with ears are going to be a huge trend this autumn/winter.  Or so one glance at the River Island website would have you believe anyway.  Last winter they produced a similar hat with the ears embroidered on, which was known to us forever more as “The Rubin Hat” on account of its similarity to  to our Chief of Police’s dog.

This year, however, the hats have actual ears attached to them and the beanies above are just two out of no less than 8 options, ranging from dogs to rabbits to faux fur trapper hats with ears.

What do you think of this trend?  Do you want your hat to look like a bunny, or do you prefer it just to look like, well, a hat? Tell us!

(The hats with ears are available here, from £12.99.)

  1. I think they’re kinda cute and fun for the darker days ahead. I don’t, however, like the £12.99 pricetags and the fact they will all be too big for my tiny head, I have found though that in the ‘girls’ section they have a few of the same hats at £7.99 instead…

    ^._.^

  2. I bought one of the original rubin hats last year, only in grey, and will continue to wear it again this year.

I do think these are really cute too!

  3. I think they’re cute. I have a panda hat from shanalogic.com that I bought last year for Halloween and then continued to wear all winter — they’re a bit childish, but as you say so often, the ‘dress like a toddler’ trend is pretty hot and the animal hats are definitely the best of it.

  4. I don’t need them…I have 2 hoodies with bunny ears. And one with a bunny tail. I do like them though..and being 20 and looking 15, I can get away with it.

  5. I’ve seen the Rubin hat being worn, and it looks good.

Rabbit ears = no good, you’d look like someone on a hen night. And antlers will surely go the way of deely boppers, except that these days everyone has a camera and the incriminating pictures will follow you round forever…
