Honestly? We're not totally convinced we love this dress. In fact, at first glace we weren't sure we even liked it. Some days, however, there are slim pickings in the world of celebrity fashion, and on those days we simply pick the most unusual dress we can find, and let you be the judge of it.
This dress is by Jason Wu, and was worn by Michelle Williams to the Meek’s Cutoff premiere at the Venice Film Festival last night. We LOVE the hair and makeup, HATE the clutch (although it would've been fine with a different choice of dress), and... are still on the fence over the dress, but have to give Michelle credit for wearing something so different.
So, what's the verdict?

The rather high neckline with centred bow makes me imagine some great aunt looked at the design and said, “Oh no, cover yourself up dear.” If the edges went to her shoulders, or the scoop were three inches lower it would look better.
I think she pulls it off. I think I would like it better without the bow, though.
Love it without the bow. I like modest clothes.
It’s a fabulous dress and she does look beautiful. Better a slash neck, no?
But yes, that bow should not be there – it’s annoying and makes it too twee not to mention too Chanel (especially in a black version).
I like the hair&makeup, and I like the dress. I just feel like together, they don’t work. She looks so very… goody twoshoes.
I quite like the dress, bow and all. However, imagine it hemmed at the knee; it would be totally retro-esque and much cuter, not to mention a heck of a lot easier to pull off! Michelle pulls it off as is, though. Gorgeous lady!
I hate the bow at the neck, but even without it, I’m indifferent about the rest of the dress. I agree the clutch is all wrong for it though.
i actually love the dress, but oddly not on her. she’s a beautiful woman but i think this dress is better suited for a more elegant look. maybe if her hair was styled differently, it doesn’t seem to match the look of the dress.
The neckline makes it looks like she has bad posture, so I think it would be better if the neckline was ever so slightly lower. But overall i like the dress, bows and all! The clutch is atrocious.
